Residential schools
Residential schools are considered to be one of the most horrific events of Canada's history.  It is crucial to understand the suffering these institutions caused in order to move forward with reconciliation.

The sixties scoop
During this era, the child welfare system took many Indigenous children from their homes and placed them in non-Indigenous foster care homes or residential schools, isolating them from their culture, language, and Indigenous ways of knowing.

Indian hospitals
Indian hospitals were segregated hospitals that were active in many Canadian communities. These institutions were meant to evoke fear of the Indigenous population in non-Indigenous peoples.

Land acknowledgments
Our program will provide insight into  the importance of acknowledging the land we as settlers live, work, and play on.

Missing and murdered Indigenous women, girls and two-spirit people
While Indigenous women represent only 4.3% of the canadian female population, Indigenous women represent 16% of all female homicides. No one knows an exact number of missing murdered Indigenous women, girls and two-spirit people in Canada.
